Trilogy recognised for Innovation

Trilogy Communications was highly commended during the Test Valley Business Awards ceremony at Andover’s The Lights on Monday 20 April 2009. Ray Mears, famous for his woodlore and survival expertise and television programmes, presented the Awards.

Amongst stiff competition across all industry sectors Trilogy was a finalist in the ‘University of Southampton Science Park Award for Innovation’. One of the final three Trilogy was judged on demonstrating how new ideas, practices, and products lead to business success.

For Trilogy the key to success has been by not allowing tradition to dictate where to sell and who might use the products. From a long history in broadcast Trilogy has expanded into the Commercial, Defence, Homeland Security and Emergency Management sectors with sales into over seventy countries. Trilogy’s overall exports have increased by 88% over three years, which represented 80% of total sales.

Ray Mears captivated guests with a fascinating account of his lifestyle and 26 years’ experience of running a small business. Ray commented: “It is tough, but if you have a passion, and can think with open-mindedness and determination, then do it and you can help change the world around you. Every Test Valley business contributes to Britain; if there was time when we need small businesses, it is now. This is a time to plant seeds and look for growth opportunities.”

The fifth Test Valley Business Awards Gala Dinner was bigger than ever, welcoming over 200 business people, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley, Cllr Brian and Mrs Dorothy Page and the Chairman of Hampshire County Council, Cllr Michael Woodhall.
