Trilogy Communications meets UK Trade and Investment Czar
Date of Story: September 2007 Local high-tech company, Trilogy Communications Ltd., had some high profile visitors at the recent International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam. Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham and UK ambassador to Holland, Lyn Parker, visited Trilogy’s stand to see the company’s Mercury communications technology being demonstrated in its latest form. Mercury is a world-class voice communications system used by broadcasters, emergency services, defense forces and others to provide instant, one touch communications over conventional IP networks. At the Amsterdam convention, attended by more than 45,000 visitors, Trilogy launched a new development allowing Mercury to connect to the latest VoIP telephone networks using the SIP protocol. Trilogy is a great example of agile, high-tech companies which are invigorating Andover’s mixed economy. From its early beginnings on the Portway estate in 1986, Trilogy now has prestigious development labs and manufacturing capability on the Focus 303 development, part of the Walworth estate. In the last two years the company has almost doubled in size and is set to expand further in the coming years. Mike Knight, Trilogy’s CEO, said that demand for the company’s products was growing rapidly and pointed to it’s role in providing emergency communications during the Hurricane Katrina crisis and recent contracts for the French World Service broadcaster, RFO. “We are proud of our products and of our staff which are creating a world class business from an excellent location”.
